Lunch and Learn with Broadleaf

You are cordially invited to join Broadleaf for a Client Virtualization lunch.

"As the lead IT worker for my organization, receiving unbiased information is critical. I feel Broadleaf was able to give me the information I need, while honestly contrasting the vSphere capabilities against other vendors' offerings." - Tom Cameron, Network Engineer, Bostonpost Technology.

When: June 18th, 2010 from Noon to 1:30 PM
Where: McCormick & Schmick's 11 Dorrance Street Providence, RI

Join Broadleaf for lunch and an overview of client virtualization, the forces driving its adoption, and the current products in the marketplace. We will then outline ways in which organizations can best take advantage of client virtualization in the near term.

Client virtualization offers a useful middle ground between centralized computing, where client machines act as dumb terminals to centrally managed servers; and the normal state of affairs, where everything happens on the client, at the edge of the network.

Key benefits:

  • Persistent network access is not required and expensive client hardware can be fully utilized
  • Only one base OS image is required to serve any number of different hardware types
  • Enables centralized backup
  • If a laptop or desktop fails, any other equipment that can run the hypervisor can be used to replace it
  • Data leakage can be prevented in the event of loss or theft
  • Applications, OS configuration and access rights are all managed centrally, reducing administration costs
