Prellwitz Chilinski Enhances Application Availability and Recoverability with Enterprise Shared Storage Solution

Prellwitz Chilinski Associates (PCA), established in 1982, is a leading architectural design firm headquartered in Cambridge, MA. PCA’s thoughtful, award winning designs have generated one success after another for their clients. Their impressive client portfolio includes companies such as Market Basket, Dunkin’ Donuts, Panera Bread and Healthworks Fitness.

As a long time customer of Broadleaf’s ARCHEON solution for onsite and offsite data protection, Dan Carp, Systems Administrator and firm Associate at PCA sought Broadleaf’s expertise as the firm matured and wanted to improve application availability and recoverability. Carp was also seeking a solution that would create a platform to support virtualization of their servers in the future.

Understanding PCA’s objectives, Broadleaf recommended that PCA move from their existing Direct Attached Storage (DAS) infrastructure to a shared storage solution that would centralize storage, provide better uptime availability of applications and enhance backup and recovery. The solution that Broadleaf recommended also creates a platform to support PCA’s next project, server virtualization. Further, the deployed solution provides effective snapshot capabilities which give PCA the point in time state of the storage system on-site allowing for prompt recovery of data in any type of on-site data loss.

“The Broadleaf team was an invaluable partner through the entire process of our environment upgrade – from planning and design straight through implementation and training. The hardware solution immediately and positively impacted our workflow while giving us the flexibility to move ahead with our future plans for server virtualization. We look forward to working with Broadleaf’s knowledgeable and personable staff on our next project.” — Dan Carp, PCA, Systems Administrator & Firm Associate
