When Broadleaf met VFA, the organization was facing challenges because access to central IT resources and collaboration between offices was inefficient across the WAN. VFA needed faster access times for various applications including email, Microsoft Office files (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and many other types of files accessed within the network.

Broadleaf proposed a WAN optimization solution with Riverbed Steelhead appliances to augment VFA’s MPLS connection between remote locations. VFA tested the solution and was extremely pleased with the enhanced end-user experience. The Riverbed solution truly provides VFA with LAN-like access to data across the WAN. Bandwidth utilization has also been significantly reduced.
